If you are looking for some new skills to get in the job market as a carpenter or millwright and new training facility in Wayland has just opened.

According to FOX 17, it's a big day for opportunity as West Michigan adds a new training center to Wayland, Mich. The 67,000 square foot center will get a visit today for the ribbon cutting from United States Senator Debbie Stabenow and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer.

For those interested in learning a new skill, the Michigan Statewide Carpenters and Millwrights Skilled Training Center is located at 500 Reno Drive. This is a full blown training center that will get you ready for the real world for carpenters and millwrights.

The beauty of this center is anyone can apply to become an apprentice carpenter or millwright.

All you need to apply is a high school diploma or a GED. If you become an apprentice, you do not have to pay tuition and will get paid a solid wage plus candidates will also get healthcare and pension benefits while you study and train in a variety of positions.
