Have you been back at the theater since the pandemic? I've gone twice so far and it feels great but let's be honest, there's something great about seeing a movie outdoors on a summer night.

Last year, the ballpark wasn't being utilized since baseball was cancelled so they introduced "Movies from the Mound" and they're bringing it back again this summer.

A press release from Lake Michigan Credit Union Ballpark says that last year more than 5,000 people came to watch a film on their big centerfield screen. Due to the success of it they will be hosting movie nights again when the Whitecaps are on the road traveling for games.

"Movies from the Mound" kicks off Friday, June 18 with a double feature. The full lineup is below with the first film showing at 6 p.m. and the second scheduled for 8:30 p.m.

Friday, June 18

  • Incredibles 2
  • Black Panter

Saturday, June 19

  • The Sandlot
  • Jumanji - The Next Level

Friday, July 9

  • Frozen II
  • Ghostbusters (original)

Saturday, July 10

  • The Croods: A New Age
  • Ferris Bueller's Day Off

Tickets are $7 per movie and can be purchased now. Everyone 2-years and up must have a ticket. People are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

Moviegoers will be able to purchase food from the concession stands including some of their ballpark favorites and craft beer; plus Whitecaps merchandise.
