What Will Our Summer Weather Be? Maybe not Great.
Some of our weather has beaten us up a bit. We had a rather tough winter, and spring has had its ups and downs, so what can we expect this summer? Will we get some relief from the wacky trends we have been having?
Well, depending on where you live, it looks as if we may have different summer conditions here in Michigan whether you are in the Upper Peninsula or Lower Peninsula.
According to an article on Yahoo.com/news and the Detroit Free Press, the good Old Farmer's Almanac is saying that it looks like we are in for a hot and rainy summer for most of the Lower Peninsula, and cool and dry conditions for the entire U.P. and parts of northern Michigan.
Climate change certainly isn't doing us any favors. The Old Farmer's Almanac is saying much of the United States will be hotter than normal, especially across the southern part and eastern portion of the country.

The Almanac says:
"While some regions may begin summer closer to typical early-season conditions, above-normal heat is expected to build as the season progresses. In other words, temperatures are likely to run hotter than average for much of the summer."
As for the Lower Peninsula and here in West Michigan, yep, above-average heat and rain. Swell, just swell.
So, when will this all hit? When does summer begin? Officially, summer will begin at 4:24 a.m. ET on Sunday, June 21.
Better get your lawn sprinkler going and your umbrellas ready. If you have air conditioning be sure to have it checked and ready to go because you are going to need it.
