Flu shot clinics continue to pop up around West Michigan as we keep a close eye on reported flu levels.

So far, the news is good according to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services.

Five new cases of influenza were confirmed in Michigan last week. That includes one case of the H1N1 strain of the flu.

Statewide 0.3 percent of patients who visited doctor's offices and hospitals for the week ending October 3 were visiting for flu-like symptoms. Nationwide that number was 1.1 percent.

Michigan flu levels saw a small spike in mid-September, but have remained low and below the "regional baseline" level since late January 2015.
