Are you happy right now?  No...what's the deal?  What's stopping you from being happy today?

When you break it down, we, and we alone control much of our happiness.  When we're not happy it may be our own derailment that keeps us in a funk.  Well, happiness is really not that hard to achieve, all things being equal.

Here are some things that we do to derail our happiness.

PLAY THE WAITING GAME - Just waiting around for good things to happen and not doing anything about it will make you feel powerless and weak.

BEING AFFECTED BY OTHERS - Don't count on others to make you happy.  If there are negative people in your life, just wish them well and be happy anyway.

BEING UNGRATEFUL - Choose to see the world through grateful eyes and it will never look the same again.

HOLDING A GRUDGE - You can waste a lot of your life holding onto long-term anger, and miss out on a lot of awesome happy moments.

DISRESPECTING OTHERS - Treat people the way you want to be treated.  There's no escaping it.  You will get what you give.

BEING A CONTROL FREAK - Face it...life is messy.  RELAX!  Commit to being happy even when things don't shake out your way.
