The city is beginning its first day of mourning for the seven homicide victims in Thursday's murder rampage with planned and impromptu memorials.

The Grand Rapids Press reports a candelight vigil has been announced for 8:30 to 10 p.m. tonight at the Gerald R. Ford Museum. A Facebook page has been created for the vigil. Bring your own candles, one post advises.

Also, before dawn this morning, candles, flowers, teddy bears and notes were left on the porch of the Plainfield Avenue home where three of the seven murder victims died.
