Remember the Grand Rapids' lip dub video that took the country and YouTube by storm last year?  Well, the video has been nominated for an Earnie Award.

What, you say?  An Earnie Award!  It's a brand new award for social media campaigns launched by PR Newswire, and described as "the first, free, socially-selected, earned media award.

The Rob Bliss video, sung to Don McLean's "American Pie, garnered more than 4.5 million views on You Tube, leading ABC-TV News to name Grand Rapids its "Persons of the Week!"

The competition is very stiff.  Our 'lib dub' is up against the likes of the NFL Players Association and Jeep.  Pretty heady company.

The finalists for the Earnie Awards were selected from videos that went viral in social media and effectively drove traffic, views and shares for their brand. Finalists were selected based on strategy, creativity and measurable results. They were selected by experts, but the award winners will be chosen by you, the public viewers by casting votes no later than February 14.

Here's what you do...

Go online to agilitycommunity.com view the finalists and then cast your vote.

The winner in each category will be the finalist with the greatest number of votes.

While you're at it, let's return to those "thrilling days of summer!"  Here's the Grand Rapids Lip Dub.
