The newest COVID-19 restrictions, put in place due to the spike in new cases, went into effect at 12:01 am Wednesday. Part of the new guidelines include the shutting down of indoor seating at bars and restaurants. One area brewery is finding a creative way to try to survive during these new guidelines.

If you have looked at a calendar, you know it is the end of November. The thermometer has been dropping down to the freezing mark at night and, if we are lucky, will climb back into the 50s for the next couple of days. That's still a little chilly to be eating your dinner outside.

One local brewery has come up with a solution. Brass Ring Brewing will be constructing what they are calling “beer shanties”. It's like an ice shanty with beer and food!

They aren't available just yet, but brewery owner Chris Gibbons hopes to have the first one out by this weekend. The remaining beer shanties should be set up by the Thanksgiving holiday weekend.

Each beer shanty will seat up to four people. In order to adhere to current coronavirus guidelines, Brass Ring Brewing is asking patrons to keep their groups to their immediate household.

There will only be a limited number of these structures, so the brewery will be taking reservations so people won’t have to wait in any lines.

During the new restrictions, Brass Ring Brewery will also have takeout, curbside and delivery options available.
