We are living in the hot spot of Michigan if you're looking for a good job. Experts say Grand Rapids and West Michigan is THE place to be.

The State of Michigan says our economy is so robust, and infrastructure so good that  jobs are expected to grow almost by ten percent here through 2030, best in the state.

Crain's Business Grand Rapids says the 13-county region in West Michigan will do better and grow more jobs than any other region. And West Michigan is a large area which includes Allegan, Barry, Ionia, Kent, Lake, Mason, Mecosta, Montcalm, Muskegon, Newaygo, Oceana, Osceola and Ottawa counties. That IS a robust area of Michigan and growing very rapidly in jobs and population.

The Michigan report said:

"There is the “astounding” diversity of growing occupations that illustrate a dynamic regional economy that’s “creating a place” and attracting talent from elsewhere. It’s interesting to see the absolute variety in these lists. There’s a number of strong opportunities in the area and they’re really not just from only one industry. They’re really spread out across all industries — manufacturing, medical, professional trades, anywhere."

West Michigan’s population is becoming increasingly diverse ethnically and racially as well. By 2045, the Hispanic population locally will grow a projected 130% and the Black population will expand by 40%.

So much talent is realizing the cost of living is so much better here in West Michigan, and access to quality education is tops, among other things.

The trick is to not only keep the top talent we have here, but to attract new and diverse talent as well to fill all the jobs available.

These are exciting and hopeful times here.
