Escanaba to Bring in New Year with Pasty Drop
Escanaba is set to begin 2015 with a unique celebration of a famous Upper Peninsula dish.
Escanaba will ring in the new year with their second annual pasty drop.
Escanaba DDA executive director Ed Legault said last year's pasty drop drew calls from all across the country.
This year's celebration is also drawing a lot of attention.
A pasty is a baked pastry usually filled with meat and vegetables. This dish is very popular in the Upper Peninsula. It is celebrated each year in Calumet, Michigan at PastyFest.
The pasty drop New Year's celebration in Escanaba will begin with a fireworks show at 9:00 p.m. followed by other activities at 10:00 p.m.
