Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay Travels To The UP For “Uncharted”
Celebrity Chef Gordon Ramsay made a trip to the UP. It was for his show on National Geographic called "Uncharted".
In its third season on the National Geographic channel, "Uncharted" follows Gordon Ramsay to remote locations. He immerses himself in the local culture, customs and cuisine. He talks with local chefs and gets tips and tricks and they even compete against each other.
Mlive reports that on his trip to the UP, Chef Ramsay enjoys a Michigan pasty. His adventures take him to Lake Superior where he dives in to search for burbot (a giant fish) amongst shipwrecks. He also explores the forests to hunt for woodcock.
Michiganders started to wonder about Ramsay when he was spotted dining in the UP back in September of 2020. Back then he was spotted eating at Suomi Restaurant in Hancock as well as Gemigani's Italian Restaurant (where it's said he ate twice because he enjoyed their food so much.) He was also spotted at The Vault in Houghton.
Back then we speculated that it could be for the upcoming season of "Uncharted" and it turns out that we were correct!
Besides Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Ramsay heads to Portugal, Croatia, Mexico, Texas, Maine, Puerto Rico, Iceland, Finland and the Smoky Mountains. "Gordon Ramsey: Uncharted" airs on Sunday nights. The season premiere is May 31.
