With more rain Monday afternoon, it's even more important to head the Barry County Sheriff's warning.

They posted to Facebook that citizens should avoid all activities on the Thornapple River "until the river levels are lower and the flow of the river is slower."

According to the Barry County Sheriff multiple people had to be rescued from dangerous currents on the river Sunday afternoon.

WWMT reports that there while several individuals did have to be rescued, there were no injuries.

According to the National Weather Service, the Thornapple River in Hastings last read at 6.97 feet; the flood stage is 7 feet.
