The winner of 2015's ArtPrize OnScreen Public Vote Documentary Award, Exported From Michigan, is playing at Celebration Cinema Woodland through Thursday, December 3.

Film took on a new role at ArtPrize this year with its first annual film competition ArtPrize OnScreen: Presented by Waterfront Film Festival. 

Awards were given in three categories from the public vote. The Narrative and Documentary winners each received a cash prize of $2,000. The Short Film winner received an award of $1,000.

A juried award for best overall film was also given out.

Exported From Michigan won for best documentary.

The film shares Michigan’s recent economic struggles and rebound. The film also offers a vision on what it will take to keep moving forward.

Exported From Michigan looks at ways to balance economic and environmental demands. That balance includes opportunities to become a manufacturing leader in new markets and ways to evolve agriculture to become more efficient and environmentally sound.

Education, cooperation and innovation are among the common themes seen a necessary to continue Michigan’s positive momentum.

The film is playing at Celebration Cinema Woodland through Thursday, December 3.
