While some in West Michigan are dreaming of spring break trips, Sparky at Crash's Landing would be just fine with a permanent staycation at your house!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Sparky.

Sparky arrived at Crash's Landing in October of 2015. His cheek and jaw were a swollen, infected mess. He was the victim of a nasty cat bite. A woman in Wyoming saved his life, first by taking him in, then by bringing him to Crash's Landing. Crash's Landing treated the infection with heavy-duty antibiotics and pain medication. Within a few hours Sparky's body temperature normalized and he was happily eating canned food!

After a few days of rest and some more treatment, Sparky settled into Crash's Landing before soon being adopted. However, in late June 2017, Sparky ended up back with Crash's Landing due to unfortunate circumstances beyond his control.

Sparky remains available for adoption today and he can't wait to meet you!
