Let this be a summer you'll never forget, not for the vacations you take, but for the new member you bring into your family.

Meet Slink from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Slink.

Slink was born in the spring of 2011. During his time on the streets, he was not a fan of being around people. It took weeks to earn his trust enough for Slink to allow himself to be taken in.

Slink had a number of medical problems when Crash's Landing first saw him. He had a fever, a high white blood cell count, a fractured tooth and he tested a very strong positive for FIV.

It has taken time, but the care and treatment Slink has received has not only improved his health, but he is also learning to come out of his shell.

Slink used to hide under beds. Now, he explores and will let you pet him if you approach him slowly. He LOVES canned food and treats!

Slink needs a home that can provide him the patience he needs to continue to learn to trust. A home with other cats could also be good for his confidence. Sound like a match for you or someone you know?

Please adopt Slink!
