Start the new year by welcoming a new cat into your home. Meet Samwell from Crash's Landing.

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Samwell.

At 15 pounds, Samwell has been dubbed the "gentle giant" at Crash's Landing.

Samwell was born in the summer of 2013. He was found in Wyoming in the summer of 2017. At that time, Samwell was very shy and didn't like to be touched. It took a long time for him to gain confidence, but today he's quite the cuddler and he loves belly rubs.

Samwell is FIV+. He makes his home at Big Sid's Sanctuary at Crash's Landing, but would love to live at your home.

Samwell would do well in a home with another cat. He would also do best in a home that isn't too busy.

Please adopt Samwell.
