Adopt Pumbaa From Crash’s Landing
Pumbaa has a message for you: "Meow, meow, meow-meow. Meow. Meow!"
Translation: "Come to Crash's Landing and adopt me. We will become best friends for life!"
Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center. Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.
Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.
This week, we're spotlighting Pumbaa.
Pumbaa played hard-to-get in the start. It took weeks to coax him indoors from his hole in a cement foundation of a front porch. He was happy to keep his distance, but a bad illness slowed him down enough that he was able to be brought in.
Pumbaa didn't like it, but he was brought to Crash's Landing where he received immediate and necessary treatment for a wounded left ear, he was neutered, an engorged tick was removed from his back, lab work was done and it was discovered he was anemic, a microchip was implanted, he was vaccinated and also treated for external and internal parasites. It was no shock when he tested positive for FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus).
A rough start and an unwilling visitor at first, but today Pumbaa is a calm and laid-back cat. All he wants is a home of his own.
Please adopt Pumbaa!
