Forget the game this weekend. You don't need to be a professional athlete to be the MVP. All you need to do is adopt a cat who needs a home.

Adopt Myrtle from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Myrtle.

Myrtle's story begins in Rockford on June 6th, 2016. She was taken in by a family who found her thin and hungry on their doorstep. They cared for Myrtle and attempted to find her a home, but had no luck.  After an incident between the cat and the family dogs, they were forced to schedule an appointment to have Myrtle euthanized.

News about Myrtle got through to Crash's Landing, but not until hours before the scheduled appointment to have her euthanized. Crash's Landing had room for her, but time was nearly out. Thankfully, they were able to make contact and stop the procedure, but not until 30 minutes before the scheduled time.

We are lucky to have Myrtle with us today. Now all she needs is a permanent home.

Can you adopt Myrtle?
