It's almost time for the kids to head back to school, but there's no reason to wait until school to start learning.

Help teach kids an important life lesson of giving, sharing, and charity.

Help a cat in need and adopt Mars from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Every Friday on 100.5 The River is "Purrrfect Friday," where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home. This week, we're spotlighting Mars.

Mars has come a long way since he was first found in a dumpster in Standale by a 14-year-old girl.

Mars was weak and had a bad respiratory infection. It was also discovered that he was FIV positive.

The people who found him took great care of him, then Crash's Landing gave Mars a place to stay.

Mars was born in late 2010 and his story has improved tremendously since he was first found, but there's no reason it has to stop there.

Mars is ready for a new home.

Can you adopt Mars?
