As we celebrate the holiday weekend, show your patriotism by adopting a cat in need!

Meet Lenka from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Lenka.

Lenka was one of a few cats hanging around Crash's Landing's facilities on the northeast side of Grand Rapids when they set up a live trap in early May of 2019.

They had never seen Lenka before and were surprised when they found her. Lenka was microchipped to a nearby home, but attempts to reach her owner failed. Further investigation discovered that Lenka's owner had died and the other residents of the home chose to let Lenka go on her own. A neighbor had been caring for Lenka.

Lenka was welcomed into Crash's Landing. She received antibiotics to treat an inflammatory condition which can be brought on by stress. She also has a thyroid condition which is treatable.

Lenka is 8 years old. She doesn't love being held and she likes her space while eating, but she still enjoys some attention. She also loves being indoors. Please adopt Lenka!
