Now that our record-setting early autumn temperatures are behind us (we think) it's time to make the fall of 2017 memorable for an entirely different reason. Adopt Goldie from Crash's Landing!

Crash's Landing is a non-profit, no-kill cat rescue center.  Since opening in Grand Rapids in 2002, Crash's Landing has helped more than 2,500 cats. But there is still work to be done.

Each Friday on 100.5 The River is Purrrfect Friday, where we feature a cat from Crash's Landing that needs a home.

This week, we're spotlighting Goldie.

Goldie was born in April of 2004. He was adopted from Crash's Landing years ago and lived happily with his owner for about nine years until last year when his owner passed away. There was an attempt to bring him into a new home, but the two cats already in the home didn't appreciate the new company so Goldie went back to Crash's Landing earlier this year.

After checking back into Crash's Landing and getting a thorough health exam it was discovered that Goldie suffers from an inflammatory condition of his bladder known as Feline Idiopathic Cystitis. It's a common disorder which was likely made worse by the stress of his owner's death and the moves that followed. Goldie was put on daily canned food and oral anti-inflammatory medication. He also started monthly injections of a drug that helps protect the cartilage in his joints, since he was diagnosed with a tear of the ACL in his right knee in 2014.

Goldie is a very sweet cat and the medications he is on are not expensive. Please adopt Goldie!
