The Urban Institute for Contemporary Arts (UICA) invites the community to take part in a public discussion on Sunday, July 28, about how to sustain arts and access in Grand Rapids for the future and will encourage conversation around the community impact of the inaugural DisArt Festival and centerpiece exhibition Art of the Lived Experiment. The event will include breakfast, a conversation moderated by a panel, and a Q&A to follow.

The event will be free and open to the public and will include a casual catered breakfast. A panel of festival organizers, community members, and media representatives will moderate the discussion including Chris Smit, DisArt Festival Director.

Guests have the opportunity to add their voice to the conversation and offer their own perspective and feedback about how DisArt Festival and Art of the Lived Experiment challenged the community and what the future holds for arts and access here in Grand Rapids, MI.

Art of the Lived Experiment, an international exhibition of contemporary disability art, is on view at UICA, The Fed Galleries at Kendall College of Art and Design, and at the Grand Rapids Art Museum until July 31.
