April 8 and 9, at the DeVos Center for Arts and Worship, 2300 Plymouth Ave SE, Grand Rapids,  MI  49506, Opera Grand Rapids presents it's next opera, Orpheus and Eurydice by Gluck.

The story is of a legendary musician who loses his love. Overcome with intolerable grief, he ventures to the depths of hell on a rescue mission to save her. Based on the classical Greek mythology of Orpheus, this baroque opera composed by Christoph Willibald Gluck was so influential in its style that it set the stage for several subsequent operas. In this age-old story set to modern staging and dance, will the hero save the heroine?
