Betty Ford An Independent First Lady [VIDEO]

When it comes to First Lady's Betty Ford stood above the rest.  Yes there were fashionable First Lady's but Betty Ford was that and more.  She was vocal about women's equality, she hinted about their presidential life in the bedroom, she was instumental at saving and changing the lives of alcoholics and  drug abusers, along with the treatment of other multiple addicitons.  But more than that she was a graceful, wise, beautiful human being who did indeed leave the eart a better place simply because she lived.  My favorite photo is the one of her standing on a desk in the United Nations room in the White House.  It was her idea and he didn't think she would ever allow that photo to be used in publice but being the honest and straight forward woman that she was she told him to just go for it!  This was a really nice interview that Leslie Stahl did with the former First Lady!
