Checking Work Email After 6 p.m. Is Now Banned In France

I tend to work late most days, and because of that I end up sending and reading a TON of emails after most people would already be home spending time with the family. It doesn't bother me at all, but I guess there are some people who would rather not operate that way. Turns out, if I lived in France, I would totally have change that, though.

Thursday, two employee unions and federations in France signed an agreement that requires employees to disconnect after the workday ends at 6 p.m. sharp.

Catching Up With U.S. Paralympian Omar Bermejo of Grand Rapids [Audio]

He believes he can overcome.  He believes in himself.

A 31-year old former Marine from Grand Rapids, Omar Bermejo, has gone through quite a bit in his young life. He graduated from Grand Rapids' Union High School in 2000, spent nearly 10 years in the U.S. Marine Corps rising to the rank of sergeant, but, in a motorcycle accident the happened here at home in 2009, lost his right arm. 

Did that hold him back? Nearly.

I saw a story this morning that the Internet is turning 25 today!

The REAL guy who came up with the idea (sorry, Al Gore) wrote the paper on March 12, 1989, about "a proposal to make information sharing possible over computers, using nodes and links to create a web that would eventually stretch worldwide and become the modern internet."

His name? Sir Timothy Berners-Lee.
