A Saginaw native, Girard formerly did mornings in San Diego; was morning host on WSNX, Sunny 104, from 1988 to 1994; and spent 18 years in mornings at Mix 106.5 in Baltimore. Most recently, he was program director in Columbia, Md., for Howard Community College’s online radio station The Dragon. He is a Central Michigan University graduate. The Rapid’s New Silver Line Promises More Efficient Commute [Infographic/Video]

Monday marks the debut of The Rapid's new $39 million Silver Line, which is described as the area's first Bus Rapid Transit (BRT).

The bottom line is this: You'll be able to get from 60th Street to Michigan Street NE and the Medical Mile in less than a half hour. That is 40 percent faster than you can get there using current bus routes with The Rapid.
