Tell Us When Christmas Music Should Begin on West Michigan’s Original Christmas Station
Leading up to the holidays every year, you know that you can hear all of your favorite Christmas songs on West Michigan's Original Christmas Station - 100.5 The River.

And we realized this year that we've never asked a very important question...
When do you want to start hearing Christmas music on the radio?
Over the years, 100.5 The River has flipped to Christmas as early as early October and as late as early December. But what time is the right time to switch?

When Should Christmas Music Start Playing on the Radio in Grand Rapids?
First, we want to know - how soon is too soon to be hearing Christmas songs on your radio?
And now, what you probably really want to tell us - when should WE start playing Christmas music on 100.5 The River?
The History of Christmas Music on 100.5 The River in Grand Rapids
100.5 The River was one of the very first radio stations in the entire country to play non-stop Christmas music back in 2000.
The station has played Christmas music during the holiday season ever since.
Last year (2024), the station went all-Christmas on November 19. In 2023, it happened on November 3. In 2022, it was November 1. In 2021, the Christmas music began on November 5. I actually can't find any data on when the switch happened in 2020 (that was a weird year for all of us, right?) The earliest that the station has switched in recent years was in 2018 and 2019, when the station started playing Christmas music on October 29.
