What Does Your Dog’s Personality Say About You? [PHOTOS]
For years, many people have joked that dogs and their owners eventually wind up looking a lot alike. And while that may be debatable, a new study finds that the type of dog someone chooses may say a lot about his or her personality.
“I think when you look for a dog at some level, largely subconsciously, you look for something that is a bit like you,” said study co-author Dr. Lance Workman. “It’s a bit like a romantic partner. If they fit in they will probably last.”
Workman and a colleague surveyed 1,000 dog owners to test the so-called “Big Five” traits that govern our personalities: extroversion, agreeableness, emotional stability, conscientiousness and intelligence.
Here are some of their findings.
