The Michigan State Spartans kicked off their 2019-20 season with an exhibition win against Albion University last night.  The game was the perfect way to kick off the season for a couple of reasons.

Michigan State's star guard Cassius Winston got to play against his brother, Khy Winston, for the first time in college ball.  Cassius and the Spartans did show Albion that they were not on same level as Michigan State with a final score of 85-50, but the brothers seemed to enjoy their time on the court together.

The big story of the night was Steven Izzo's first career point as a spartan.  Tom Izzo's son just started his freshman season as a guard for the Michigan State Spartans and in his very first game, he's already in the books with his first point.  After missing his first shot of his career, Steven Izzo was later fouled and went to the line for a 1-and-1.  Watch what happened below.

It was an emotional night for the Spartans as Tom Izzo's son carried on his family legacy and Cassius Winston began his final season.  Number 1 ranked Michigan State's regular season kicks off on November 5th against number 2 ranked University of Kentucky.
