The 2019 USA Curling National Championships have begun in Kalamazoo. Men's and women's teams will compete all week with the semifinals set for Friday and the finals on Saturday, February 16, at Wings Event Center in Kalamazoo.

Six-time national champion John Shuster and defending champ Rich Ruohonen are among those in Kalamazoo.

Team Shuster is the 2018 Men’s Olympic Curling Gold Medalists, but their lineup has changed since the 2018 Olympics. Tyler George has retired from elite curling. He is replaced by Chris Plys of Duluth, Minnesota. John Shuster (Superior, Wisconsin), Matt Hamilton (McFarland, Wisconsin) and John Landsteiner (Duluth, Minnesota) all remain on the team. Team Shuster's new lineup won the Curling World Cup in December.

There are 10 men's teams and eight women's teams competing in Kalamazoo. Of the more than 70 players on the four or five-person team rosters, half call either Minnesota or Wisconsin home. A few teams include players from Michigan:
