US 131 to Close at 28th Street Next Weekend

Give yourself plenty of time if you are traveling northbound into Grand Rapids next weekend.

The Michigan Department of Transportation has announced that US-131 will be CLOSED at 28th Street for bridge work beginning at 9 p.m. on Friday, March 9 and lasting through 5 a.m. on Monday, March 12.

This is a complete closure of all northbound lanes.

MDOT suggests northbound 131 through-traffic detour by taking westbound M-6 to eastbound I-196 to northbound US-131.

There is another full closure of US-131 coming the following weekend. Southbound US-131 will close at Burton Street at 9 p.m. Friday, March 16 through 5 a.m. Monday, March 19.
