U.S. Supreme Court Postpones Arguments, Canada Closes Borders
The U.S. Supreme Court is postponing arguments for one of the few times in history while Canada is closing its borders, but making exceptions for Americans.
Supreme Court
Time reports that the U.S. Supreme Court is postponing arguments scheduled into early April due to COVID-19.
The last time the building was closed to arguments was when anthrax was found in the mailroom in 2001.
The only other times the U.S. Supreme Court closed arguments was in 1918 due to the flu pandemic and in 1793 and 1798 due to yellow fever.
Canada
The Detroit News says Canada is closing its borders to those who are not citizens, but Americans are exempt for now. Other exceptions include diplomats and people with family in the country. Air travel to Canada will only be allowed to four cities.
