The Big Step Walk is Saturday

This weekend, Grand Rapids will be filled with runners.

The Fifth Third Riverbank Run will pretty much take over downtown Grand Rapids during the morning and afternoon.

But, just a couple of miles away on the campus of Aquinas College, a quiet little Walk will take place at the same time, and it is equally important.

It's "The Big Step" walk for the Noorthoek Academy.

The Noorthoek Academy is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing a continuing education program in the arts and sciences for special needs students, who want to pursue their educations in a college setting after high school.

The school, part of Grand Rapids Community College, is a very special place, and needs all of our support.

I will be hosting the event at the Jarecki Center on the Aquinas campus, with registration at 9am, and the walk beginning at 9:30.
