People in the Grand Rapids area can gather for a Thanksgiving meal. The dinner is for those experiencing homelessness or anyone who is looking for fellowship.
With snow and colder temperatures moving in this week, the City of Grand Rapids has announced a partnership with Mel Trotter to further help those experiencing homelessness during the winter months.
With the first big snow hitting Grand Rapids this week, police are teaming up with Mel Trotter Ministries to make sure the city's homeless population have a warm place to stay this winter.
Mel Trotter Ministries is always there for people in need, and this year, as in years past, one of the biggest needs over the holidays is food.
In the greater Grand Rapids Area, Christmas Food Boxes will be given out to 650 families as part of Mel Trotter Ministries’ Holiday Food Box program.

Mel Trotter Ministries is collecting non-perishable foods for its annual Brown Bag Food Drive this fall, and it begins today. The goal is to collect 35,000 pounds of food items that will be used for more than 1,000 Thanksgiving and Christmas meal boxes for Grand Rapids area individuals and families in need.
