LowellArts Competition Expands, Seeks Entries to Win $2,000 in Prizes
The 31st annual LowellArts West Michigan Art Competition is expanding thanks to increased gallery space. The competition will now accept entries from artists from 25 different counties in Michigan, an increase from last year when artists from 15 counties were eligible. $2000 in cash awards will be given to five artists.

The Grand Rapids Public Museum and Grand Rapids Amateur Astronomical Association have brought back observing nights at the Veen Observatory in Lowell Township. Observing nights are open to the public every second and last Saturday evening of the month and runs through October 2015.
