Online Gambling Now Banned in Michigan? Some Is!
Casinos, and especially online gambling, are hotter than a firecracker in Michigan. In fact, Michigan state officials reported that online casino play brought in more money in October than ever before. And now "Michigan has passed New Jersey and Pennsylvania for online casino play," according to The Daily Mining Gazette.
That sounds all rosy for the gambling folks, but there have been some forms of the online business that have been banned in Michigan, as well as many other states.

They were called Sweepstakes Casinos. They were a way to play casino style games for free. It is very complicated, but those Sweepstakes Casinos would let you play without real money.
"You don't have to buy anything to play, but because of that Sweepstakes Casinos don't fall under normal gambling rules and regulation they aren't considered gambling," the website The Game Haus says.
"Sweepstakes Casinos are no longer permitted to operate in the state of Michigan.
This follows regulatory guidance from the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), as they consider Sweepstakes Casinos to fall outside promotional gaming laws within the state.
Now, any form of Sweepstakes Casino offering redeemable prizes as a result of gameplay, and involving optional payments, is now restricted in Michigan."
Supporters of the Sweepstakes Casino ban are thrilled, and say the ban protects consumers from unregulated gambling. Opponents say some games were just harmless entertainment.
However, for the sincere online gambling fan, don't sweat it. There are many outlets available. Just CLICK HERE to find other, legal sites that are happy to take your money!
