St. Cecilia and Lincoln Center Finish First Season Thursday, Arpil 11
The Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center Series at St. Cecilia completes their 1st season at St. Cecilia Music Center on April 11, 2013. Artistic Director of the Series, Wu Han will perform on piano with five other acclaimed musicians for their performance featuring the works of Kodaly, Weber and Dvorak. The five other musicians from the CMS of Lincoln Center include Kristin Lee, violin; Sean Lee, violin; Paul Neubauer, viola; Nicholas Canellakis, cello; Jose Franch-Ballester, clarinet.
The ensemble will perform at St. Cecilia Music Center located downtown at 24 Ransom NE at 7:30 p.m. in a program featuring Duo for Violin and Cello, Op 7 by Kodaly, Quintet in B-flat Major for Clarinet, Two Violins, Viola, and Cello, Op. 34 by Weber, and Quintet in A Major for Piano, Two Violins, Viola, and Cello, B. 155, Op. 81 by Dvorak.
St. Cecilia Music Center brings New York City to Grand Rapids through it's collaboration with the Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center. This collaboration allows those in West Michigan and guests who travel here to enjoy world-renowned performers here at home. A trip to Lincoln Center is as close as downtown Grand Rapids with this new partnership and will have a huge impact on the cultural growth of Grand Rapids.
Tickets for the April 11 Chamber Music Society of Lincoln Center concert are $35 and $30 and student tickets for $10.
