This coming September 29th will be a very special day for many families in West Michigan.  It's the Special Families Fun Fest.

Taking the family out for a little fun and recreation can be a very frustrating experience for families with special needs children.  Often times, they don't go at all.

Well, that all changes for a day because the DeltaPlex is having the Special Families Fun Fest.

No doubt, there are many fun things for children to do in our community, but the story can be totally different with a 'special needs' child.  Many times a special needs child isn't able to participate at all.

This fun day will include wheelchair accessible games, a sensory room and a calming room for those dealing with autism. Also, each game will be paired with a vendor so parents can speak to people who may offer daily life assistance while their child gets to play.

They haven't left young children out who may not have a special need.  There will be fun for the entire family.

You'll find a carnival midway atmosphere with prizes for kids to win. Rick the Reptile Guy from Boulder Ridge Wild Animal Park in Alto will be there, as well.

Tickets are on sale for $5. Your ticket also includes 10 game tickets as well. Tickets can be purchased online at Etix.com or by visiting the DeltaPlex Box Office.
