Snowman-Building Contest in Grand Rapids Feb. 8-9

We've had plenty of chances to practice building snowmen this winter in West Michigan.

Now it's time to put those skills to the test at a snowman-building competition in Grand Rapids on Feb. 8.

The snowman building competition is part of the Mangiamo! Snowman Festival on Feb. 8 and 9.

There are two divisions: one for children 3-12 and one for teens and adults ages 13 and older.

The children's competition runs 10 a.m.-noon.

Teens and adults compete 1 p.m.-3 p.m.

The top entries in each category will win prizes and food and drink will be available for purchase.

Mangiamo! is located at 1033 Lake Drive SE in Grand Rapids.
