Just when all the people with rose-colored glasses tell you how the economy is coming back, news like this can sort of take the wind out of your sails!

Hostess may be sending layoff notices to nearly 65 workers in West Michigan.  It could affect 45 people in Wyoming, 17 in Kalamazoo and 5 in Comstock Park.

The information became public when the company sent letters to comply with the "Worker Adjustment & Retraining Notification" Act, which requires companies to give 60 days advance notice before a mass layoff.

The company filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy in January and may have to sell all or portions of their various businesses.  Worst case scenario is, they would have to close operations and liquidate.
