Pepsi in Michigan Could Contain Pieces of Metal
The Michigan Department of Agriculture and Rural Development issued a consumer advisory today to warn that some Pepsi products have been found containing metal flecks due to malfunctioning equipment.
An investigation initiated by a consumer complaint found the metal flecks which were made of iron and chromium. The flecks are 0.1 - 0.3 mm, but there could be bigger pieces which have not been found.
The consumer advisory is for 16.9 ounce Pepsi bottles distributed in Michigan under product codes HC022373 and HC022473. The advisory only applies to 16.9 ounce plastic bottles of Pepsi. The advisory does not apply to Diet Pepsi, Pepsi Zero Sugar, or any other Pepsi-Cola flavor variations, or any other package sizes.
All affected products have been removed from store shelves, but some have been purchased. If you have some of the affected Pepsi, you may return it at the place of purchase.
