New Addition Open at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital

This past Sunday was a big day at Mary Free Bed Rehabilitation Hospital as they began welcoming patients to their new hospital addition.

Located on the northeast corner of Jefferson Avenue and Wealthy Street at 235 Wealthy St. SE, here in Grand Rapids, the $42 million "West Addition" features 119 private rooms for rehabilitation patients needing acute care, high-tech therapy gyms, and many other amenities designed to help patients be successful in their rehabilitation.

The West Addition is the first phase of a $66.4 million expansion and renovation project on the Mary Free Bed campus.  The building also includes 48 private rooms for sub-acute rehabilitation. When the sub-acute unit opens within the next several weeks, Mary Free Bed will become the fifth largest free-standing rehabilitation hospital in the country.
