In India, there is no system in place to identify babies, until now anyway. There is a project put on by Michigan State University to fingerprint babies to keep track of immunizations.

This fingerprinting project could save countless lives.

Michigan State University researcher Anil Jain is developing a fingerprint-based recognition method for infants in an effort to track immunizations and treatments over a lifetime.
