Are you looking for a job? Possibly looking to up "upgrade" from your current job? Or, perhaps, you're an employer looking to fill jobs with some top talent? This new Job Fair may be your answer.

On September 16, from 12 noon to 4 p.m., Hello West Michigan will host a new event aimed at helping local employers tap into new talent sources, particularly former Michigan residents living outside of West Michigan. The Hello West Michigan Online Career Fair will connect employers to candidates where it has become the most convenient for both parties in the 21st century – online.

The event is a practical way for participating employers to attract top talent to their organizations. With more than 15,000 job openings in the region, demand for skilled workers is high, and a creative approach is required to attract candidates’ attention, while keeping costs in check for both employers and candidates.

Hello West Michigan has attempted to address the region’s talent shortage over the last 5 years by responding to the immediate talent need.

The organization, which co-hosts an in-person event with a similar intention on Thanksgiving Eve, wanted to make it easier for companies to connect with non-local candidates more often. It allows both candidates and companies learn about each other without much investment like travel or time away from a current job.

Participating employers include Spectrum Health, Steelcase, Amway, Autocam, Autocam Medical, Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan, Dicastal North America, Farmers Insurance, Haworth, Herman Miller, Kellogg’s, Macatawa Bank, Meijer, Mercy Health, Northwestern Mutual, Padnos, TEKsystems, and Tyson Foods; There are 18 employers in total.

Companies are hiring for a wide range of fields including healthcare, IT, supply chain, finance, marketing, HR, and banking, with a high demand for candidates with experience in manufacturing and skilled trades.

The event is free to attend, only requiring interested attendees to pre-register online at: www.hellowestmichigan.com/onlinecareerfair. The fair is open to local candidates as well as people living outside of West Michigan, September 16, from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
