Spectrum Health Cancels The 2022 Auto Charity Spectacular
Is this a sign of more things to come? As the Omicron variant is still impacting our community, Spectrum Health has canceled an upcoming event. Will more canceled events be on the way?
As part of the International Auto Show, the Auto Show Charity Spectacular 2022 that was to be held on February 2 at Devos Place Convention Center has been cancelled.
It was to be a night of food, entertainment, and fun. The event would have featured a live band, mouth-watering gourmet food and a sneak peek of the hundreds of vehicles displayed at the International Auto Show 2022.
Spectrum Health Foundations posted this to their Facebook page,
"COVID-19 continues to impact our community. Spectrum Health remains “red status”. This means we continue to have significant inpatient census and high positive test rates. While we are optimistic the Omicron variant will pass quickly, we are sensitive to our responsibility to keep each other safe and limit transmission rates. Therefore, we’ve made the decision to cancel the 2022 Auto Show Charity Spectacular. We are grateful for your continued support.
We are excited to see you in 2023!!"
The event, in support of the Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital, cost $150 for a pair of tickets. The dressy affair has not been rescheduled for 2022.
