I've heard of different ways people try to trick drug tests-- drinking a bunch of water, products that are supposed to give you "clean" pee, but I'd not heard of anyone strapping on a fake a penis and and trying to pass off someone else's urine as their own...

Until now.

Livingston Daily reports that a Howell man who tried to pull off the fake penis stunt during a drug test appeared in court last week.

James Lee Schmaus was on probation for drug-related offenses when he tried to trick the test by using a prosthesis.

Apparently it's similar to something called a Whizzinator, which, according to the product's website, is a

"discreet synthetic urine device that is safe for all types of scenarios"

and

"has the most life-like realistic fake penis on the market".

Schmaus asked the judge for leniency, saying he is the sole provider for his family, which includes three children. He said he used a controlled substance while on probation because he "got freaked out" because of a friend's funeral.

Livingston County Judge Miriam Cavanaugh hesitated, but eventually sentenced Schmaus to the time he'd served, saying:

“I don’t think you’re done using. I’ll give you a chance. It’s against my better judgment.”
