Who doesn't like chocolate? Anyone? Probably NOT!

However, there is one chocolate treat you shouldn't eat because it could kill you!

MSN.com/en.us reported that a specialty candy sold here in Michigan has been recalled "due to salmonella contamination, according to the the U.S. Food and Drug Administration."

Okay, that is not a good thing, right? RIGHT!

Spring & Mulberry is the company that has issued the recall, MSN reported. There are several stores in Michigan, mainly around Grand Rapids and Detroit that sell their candy.

"The potential for contamination was first noted after routine third-party testing conducted by the company’s contract manufacturer revealed a Mint Leaf bar tested positive for Salmonella."

According to Spring & Mulberry, here's the full recalled chocolate bar list with each flavors' 6-digit lot code:

  • Earl Grey (purple packaging) #025258.
  • Lavender rose (light blue packaging) #025259, #025260.
  • Mango chili (rose packaging) #025283. 
  • Mint leaf (teal packaging) #02525.
  • Mixed berry (purple packaging) #025275, #025281, #025337.
  • Mulberry fennel (burgundy packaging) #025345.
  • Pecan date (yellow packaging) #025261, #025265, #025267, #025268, #025339, #025343.
  • Pure dark minis (blue packaging) #025273.

Spring & Mulberry is a candy company that makes their chocolate with a combination of fruit, nuts, spices, and more.

The company does say that there haven't been any reports of illness or injury as of now, but to err on the side of caution they issued the recall.

The FDA says Salmonella is nothing to mess around with. It can make you very sick, especially young children, seniors, and anyone with a weakened immune system.

They say symptoms may occur anywhere between six hours and six days. It can be rough, but most people usually recover in four to seven days. Yikes!
