Lightning Charlie, a retired racehorse, and Mr. Kitty a barn cat, have gone viral on social media for all the good reasons.

The two live at Beauty for Ashes Stables in Bailey, Michigan which specializes in retraining and rehoming thoroughbred racehorses once they’ve retired from racing.

Beauty for Ashes Stables owner Christy Drent, told WZZM 13 that horses like Lightning Charlie usually go on to have success in other areas such as trail riding, jumping and barrel racing.

Currently, Lightning Charlie is looking for a new owner, but until that time comes it looks like he's having a good time with his new friend Mr. Kitty.

Videos posted by Beauty for Ashes Stables have people on the internet falling in love with the unlikely friends.

In the first video that was posted you see Lightning Charlie lovingly licking on Mr. Kitty.

It appears that Mr. Kitty likes the licks because he is covered in horse drool and doesn't move an inch, that is the most extreme cat bath I've ever seen.

Another video that was recently posted shows the two buddies hanging out in the riding stable.

Mr. Kitty can be seen chilling on a post rubbing against Lightning Charlie.

This time there was no cat bath given to Mr. Kitty from Lightning Charlie.

It's nice to see such a lovely friendship form from when it's least expected.
