A Grand Rapids man has been crowned as Michigan's top new host of the year by Airbnb!
Airbnb announced its list of top new hosts in each state throughout the country for 2022.
The criteria that the company used to see who would win were:
- They had to have started hosting their first and only Airbnb in 2022
- They have the most check-ins in their state
- They have already achieved Superhost status.
A Grand Rapids man has been crowned as Michigan's top new host of the year by Airbnb!
Allen was dubbed the winner for the entire state of Michigan.
With no last name given, Allen has an Airbnb listing in the Heritage Hill neighborhood near Downtown Grand Rapids.
According to Allen's listing, the suite
"offers full privacy with its own entrance to a private bathroom, living room, kitchenette & bedroom separated from the rest of the home. Steps from Downtown, East Town, Wealthy District, Mary Free Bed, and St. Mary's Hospital."
There is a separate (second) floor of the home that Allen uses as a separate unit with tenants.
With reviews like these, it makes sense why Allen is the host of the year for Michigan.
Megan says
"The place was nice. Location is great. Worth noting that there is wall in the hallway/bathroom that's shared with the rest of the house and we heard the other people a bit. They weren't loud or anything. Just thin walls. With the price being comparable to a hotel, it's definitely worth considering when you book."
Jordan says,
"I CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GOOD THINGS ABOUT THIS PLACE! It's in the back of an old house so it has old house charm. Extremely clean, wonderfully decorated."
Among these winners,
- They have nearly 6,000 check-ins between the first and third quarters of 2022.
- 64 percent of them are women!
- 52 percent list their Airbnb in urban areas and 48 percent are in rural areas.
