A canine unit from the Kent County Sheriff’s Office was called to the scene. The trained dog conducted a sniff of the vehicle and alerted to the presence of narcotics.
That prompted officers to conduct a thorough search, which revealed a significant quantity of illegal drugs. Among the items found were methamphetamine, psilocybin mushrooms, and dozens of prescription pills classified as controlled substances.
The driver was arrested at the scene and now faces multiple felony charges, including delivery and manufacturing of methamphetamine, in addition to other drug-related offenses.
